These are expressionist portrayts ,a sort of “shell-portrayts”
created through the clothes of the people represented .The clothes take the
shape of the individual ,as they were a second skin ,and become a whole body –
the uniform becomes the category of Essence theorized by Kant : the boys wearing
a pair of jeans , the chalkstripe
, the young woman in a long skirt, the professional man with his trench-coat ,
the one showing his tattoo, the poet with his favourite book and the no more young flying couple.
The people portrayed in their
real dimensions assume their own essence through their objects and especially
through their clothes which give
their personalities life and depth. These portrayts are icons of the
contemporary world which reflects our living style, the image of the modern man
and all his surroundings.
